To comply with the highest safety standards and Underwriters Laboratory (UL), the input and outputs (outlets) on the unit itself cannot be mismatched. If your wall outlet is different from your EV charger, it is suggested to order a high quality adapter to go from a NEMA 14-50 to NEMA 10-30 or to go from NEMA 14-50 to NEMA 14-30.

The best way to make this work for you will be to have a wall pass through kit installed by a licensed electrician to extend the outlet from the Smart Splitter to the other side of the wall. With this outlet, you can plug in your EV charger like normal, while circuit sharing on the other side of the wall.
Use our recommended installer, Qmerit, to find the best priced electrician.
There is no cable that comes with the Smart Splitter. The EVSE (EV Charger) cable usually comes with your car or can be purchased through Amazon. We recommend the mobile connector, the JuiceBox 40, or a ClipperCreek charger to go along with your Smart Splitter.
In this case, some customers use extension cords. Find a popular UL listed cord here. Please be aware that there could be some safety hazards that come with using extension cords.
On the sides of the Smart Splitter you will see a label for Primary (PRI) and Secondary (SEC) next to the LED's. Which ever device is plugged into the primary will take priority over the secondary outlet. The primary side will most commonly be on the left side of the Smart Splitter, however, in the case that your outlet is upside down the primary will be on the right side.

The bracket is designed to provide your Smart Splitter with additional support. It is safe to use the device without the mounting bracket, although, we suggest that you check in on it periodically and reseat the NeoCharge if you see it coming loose from the outlet.
In this case you can swap the front mounting plate of your outlet with one that has 4 screws for the receptacle, rather than two in the middle. This will allow for easy install of your mounting bracket.
Your Smart Splitters comes with a mounting bracket that secures it to the wall with thumb screws. The mounting bracket is easy to install and uses the existing screws that are on the faceplate of your outlet.
On some types of outlets there is a center screw hole (red arrow) for a mounting point and other types will have the outside screw holes (yellow arrows) that will work with your outlet.
